Wondering What is All Over Your Roof?
It is a form of algae called “Gloeocapsa Magma” which feeds on crushed limestone used in common asphalt shingles. Growth normally begins on the north side of structures or in a heavly shaded area. These areas generally get more shade and take longer to dry out from nightly dew and rain. The good news is it can be removed using the right roof cleaners and cleaning techniques.

How Do We Remove These Stains?
There is only one safe and recommended method for shingle roof cleaning. We strictly follow the guide lines laid out and recommended by ARMA (Asphalt Roof Manufacturers Association) and major shingle manufacturers like GAF and Owens Corning.
Our cleaning process consist of a “Low Pressure” application of the recommended cleaning detergent that is designed to safely remove any algae, moss, lichens and air born pollutants. This application uses no more pressure than a common garden hose. The cleaning detergents are then allowed a short period of time to work there magic. In some cases a second coat will then be gently applied to remove any remaining stains.
